A Ferrari 365 GTC is up for sale by Ferrari specialist Talacrest at no less than $600,000. If you’re wondering why it’s priced so high the answer is because its current owner discovered that the blue coupe once belonged to ex-Beatle musician, George Harrison.
According to Talacrest, the vehicle’s current owner has the documentation to prove that Harrison purchased the 365 GTC new in 1969 for 4,000 pounds.
He then sold it in the mid-70s, but not before inspiring fellow musician Eric Clapton to begin his own collection of Ferraris, as the said in an interview with Ferrari magazine.
Celebrity-owned cars seem to fetch a higher price at auctions than their identical siblings owned by your everyday Joe.
An ex-Paul McCartney Lamborghini 400GT sold for 122,500 pounds, while a 1972 Miura owned by Rod Stewart went for much more than the initial forecast of 560,00 pounds, with the highest bidder paying 694,400 pounds for it.
