Many people that are into premium cars are also into expensive watches, which is only natural since the finest examples of both serve more than just a utilitarian role.

A Bentley and a Lada can both take you from point A to point B. In much the same way, a 10 dollar watch can tell you the time in exactly the same way as a Rolex or a Breitling.

So if you’re looking just for transportation and knowing what time it is, pass on the Bentley and the Breitling and save yourself enough money to buy a house.

If, on the other hand, you appreciate the finest things in life and are lucky enough to be able to afford them (and hopefully clever enough to appreciate their craftsmanship, too), then it’s another story altogether.

Last February, four-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen broke the world ice speed record by reaching a top speed of 205.48 mph (330.69 km/h) on the frozen waters of the Baltic Sea driving a Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible.

This prompted Bentley to launch the “Ice Speed Record” special edition of the Supersports Convertible limited to just 100 units.

But, like we said, the customers of a limited-edition Bentley are very likely to appreciate an exclusive timepiece. That’s why Bentley’s long-standing partner, Breitling, manufactured a commemorative Ice Special Edition chronograph that will also be produced in 100 pieces and will be available, free of charge to buyers of the Continental ISR.

“The Continental Supersports ‘Ice Speed Record’ is a true driver’s car that captures that unique Bentley spirit. It offers extreme performance, agility and an extrovert personality, while retaining the refinement, handcrafted luxury and comfort our customers expect”, said Bentley’s CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer.

“It is no coincidence that both watch and car are personalised with the same engraved number, upholding the renowned and time-honoured tradition of genuine exclusivity of both Breitling and Bentley. Highly sought. Pure Bentley and Breitling through and through”, he added.
