One of the most annoying things about displaying your scale car models out of their cases is the amount of dust they collect over time. And while an old-fashioned feather duster may or may not do the trick, a German company named “Momira” has come up with a more snazzy solution.
Momira’s proposal is called the Model Car Cleaning System. However, we should note that the name is slightly misleading as the product does not actually clean scale models but rather removes dust particles both inside and out.
The Cleaning System is as basic as it gets, consisting of a box made out of aluminum or plastic that holds a special disposable dust magnet. All you have to do is push the scale model from one opening to the other, and repeat if necessary, to remove the dust from the vehicle.
According to Momira, the dust magnet fiber also applies a protective layer, which gives the cars a new shine and protects them from large dust contamination. The dust fiber is said to be good for about 250 passes.
The German company offers the Model Car Cleaning System with either an aluminum or a plastic case in four different sizes for scales of 1:87, 1:43, 1:24 and 1:18 with prices ranging from €34.99 to €49.99 (US$46-US$65) for the base models and the refills priced at €19.99 (US$26) regardless of the size.
