Among the millions of people who watched the spectacular ‘ring of fire’ eclipse on Sunday across a thin strip of the Western U.S. and eastern Asia, was a 26-year-old woman from San Bruno, California.

The reason why we picked out this woman, who was not identified by the police, is because she blamed the solar eclipse for a car accident that left a 10-year old girl with a broken arm.

According to CBS News, the woman was heading west on Grand avenue in San Francisco at about 7:10 pm on Sunday in her vehicle when she hit a mom and her daughter while the two were in the middle of a crosswalk.

The driver’s excuse? She told police that the glare from the solar eclipse blinded her for some time.

As a result of the accident, the little girl suffered a broken right arm while her mother was not injured.

Police said the driver was not charged with a crime.
