In a fitting tribute to the late Carroll Shelby who passed away last month, Ford will compete in this weekend’s famous Goodwood hill climb with the U.S.-market-only Shelby GT500
The Blue Oval’s most powerful production model ever features an aluminium 5.8-litre supercharged V8 engine producing 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque that propels the coupe to a top speed in excess of 200mph (+322 km/h).
The Shelby model that will participate in the Goodwood race is equipped with the optional Performance Package that adds electronically adjustable dampers and a Torsen limited-slip differential, plus an additional Track Package that includes three additional coolers.
Joining the Shelby GT500 in the hill climb will be the new Focus ST five-door hatchback that is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine rated at 247hp (250PS).
