The eternal bickering between GM and Ford fans continues with a new video that shows a tuned 2013 Mustang Boss 302 taking the edge over a stock Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in a straight-line acceleration match on the road from 40mph (~65km/h).
In stock guise, the Mustang Boss 302’s 5.0-liter V8 pushes out 444 ponies at 7,400 rpm and 380 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. However, the white example seen in the video is said to have been upgraded with “a JLT intake, a 3-inch Xpipe and an AED tune”, without any mention on the output figures.
The Camaro ZL1, on the other hand, was completely stock meaning its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 produces 580hp at 6,000 rpm and 556 lb.-ft. (754 Nm) at 4,200 rpm.
Perhaps more interesting is the unidentified white turbocharged/supercharged model filming the short lived duel from behind as it seems to have no problem keeping up with two the American cars. Anybody have any idea what it is?
