Lincoln has launched an online configurator and released pricing for its all-new MKZ midsize premium sedan that will be in dealerships in late fall.
The redesigned from the ground up MKZ starts at $35,925 for the base 2.0-liter EcoBoost and 2.0-liter Hybrid FWD models rising to $49,260 for the top-of-the-line 3.7-liter V6 AWD with the retractable panoramic roof option, with all prices excluding an $875 delivery and destination charge (*).
Choosing the hybrid powertrain doesn’t come with a premium as Lincoln decided to keep the same price for all trim levels with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo models.
The MKZ is offered with three engines starting with the 240hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost unit that delivers an estimated fuel economy of 22 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.
The Hybrid version couples a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine to an electric motor producing a combined output of 188hp (fuel economy ratings are pending), while there’s also a 300hp 3.7-liter V6 rated at 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
The 2.0L Turbo and 3.7L V6 engines are linked to a six-speed automatic transmission and are offered in both front- and all-wheel drive variants, while the hybrid model is available only with front-wheel drive and a CVT (continuously variable transmission).
There are four trim levels to choose from named Premiere, Select, Reserve and Preferred. Key standard features across the range include the Lincoln Drive Control, SYNC with MyLincoln Touch and LED headlamps and taillight.
Available features are the retractable panoramic roof, inflatable rear seat belts and multicontour front seats with Active Motion.
“The all-new Lincoln MKZ represents a new day for Lincoln and we consider it a worthy new calling card for a reinvented brand,” said global marketing chief Jim Farley.
“Along with a reinvented customer experience of delightful personal service, we are confident Lincoln will be on the leading edge of attracting a new class of premium buyers who delight in discovering new and better ways of rewarding and distinguishing themselves from the norm.”
