Besides the world premiere of the new Trax small SUV that we have already shown you, Chevrolet’s Paris Motor Show stand will also host the European premieres of the 2013 Spark facelift, and new engine variants of the Orlando MPV and Malibu sedan.
Chevrolet has brought the European market version of the Spark subcompact in line with the North American specification model that just went on sale this year.
The 2013 model sports redesigned dual-port grille and front bumper as well as restyled headlamp covers and fog lamps, new 14- and 15-inch alloy wheels and a higher-mounted LED stop lamp that’s integrated into the spoiler above the rear window.
The interior updates include fresh decor elements along with a remodeled center console with enhanced storage. In Europe, the 2013 Spark will continue to be offered with 1.0-liter 68-hp and 1.2-liter 82-hp gasoline engines, both of which return a 5.0lt/100km (47mpg US or 56.5mpg UK) on a combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 118 g/km.
Chevrolet has enhanced the range of the Orlando minivan with a new 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 138hp (140PS) and 200Nm (147 lb-ft) of peak torque.
The four-cylinder unit, which compliments the existing 1.8L gasoline and 2.0L diesel engines, comes with standard Start/Stop functionality and a six-speed manual transmission returning an average fuel consumption of 6.2lt /100 km (37.9mpg US or 45.6mpg UK) .
For the new model year, the two variants of Orlando’s 2.0-liter diesel engine gain a new Electric Power Steering (EPS) and Start/Stop functionality, with Chevrolet claiming fuel savings of up to 11 percent on a combined cycle.
The automaker has also added an available rear view camera and a front passenger seat that can be folded flat for the 2013 Orlando.
Finally, Chevrolet will also show the new diesel version of its Malibu sedan fitted with a 2.0-liter unit rated at 158hp (160PS) at 4,000 rpm, and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque at 1,750 rpm, which is available for order now at European dealerships.
