If you enjoy cars and movies, you will no doubt have seen at least one of the three Transporter films starring Jason Statham as Frank Martin, a professional freelance courier driver for hire who gets in all sorts of troubles and high-speed car chases.
What you may not know is that HBO, HBO Canada, French TV-channel M6, and German television company RTL, have joined forces to create a television series based on the film aptly named “Transporter: The Series”.
While Chris Vance will replace Jason Statham as Frank Martin, the television series will continue to feature a variety of sports cars including, as we learned today, the Megane Renaultsport (RS) 265 Cup.
The French sports hatch, which is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four that generates 262bhp (265PS) and 360Nm (266 lb-ft) for a 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint time of six seconds and a maximum speed of 158mph (254km/h), will make its debut on episode 12 and will feature in more than 20 scenes.
The Transporter series will make its television debut this October.
In the meantime, head over the break to check out some pictures and a video from the filming that took place in Paris earlier this month.
