German tuning brand Vath is breathing more fire into the Mercedes-Benz E500 sedan through the V50S performance package that increases power and gives the car a slightly more aggressive look.
Engine tweaks come in the form of reprogrammed software, a new air cooling system and a sports exhaust system, along with the removal of the electronic speed limiter.
Output is boosted from 402hp (407PS) to 511hp (518PS) and peak torque from 600Nm (442 lb-ft) to 810Nm (597 lb-ft), with Vath quoting a zero to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h (186 mph).
The list of upgrades also includes a high-performance brake system with 390mm discs and 6-piston calipers, and an electronic module for the air-suspension with extra settings.
More aggressive rubber size 245/30-20 at the front and 285/25-20 at the rear is mounted on new 20-inch three-piece forged-alloy rims.
Vath’s suite of styling modifications for the E500 include a front lip spoiler, a boot lid spoiler and a rear diffuser, all made from carbon fiber, plus a blacked out front grille that does away with the Mercedes-Benz star and logo.
The tuning firm finishes the package with a sport steering wheel in leather (optionally available with carbon or wood trims), and a new speedometer that climbs to 360 km/h (223mph).
In Germany, the total cost for Vath’s V50S package reaches €32,250 (US$40,400) excluding VAT.
