Overcoming many difficult situations over the past few years headlined by a bankruptcy procedure and a change of ownership, the Chrysler Group managed to develop and introduce the third iteration of its famed Viper supercar that will now be marketed under the SRT brand nameplate.
As it prepares for a mid-November launch, the automaker invited members of the motoring press to try out the potency of the venom produced by the new Viper’s uprated 8.4-liter V10 powerplant at the Gingerman Speedway in South Haven, Michigan.
If you skip through the break, you will find a sonorous clip made by Road&Track magazine and an official video filmed by Chrysler from the same event featuring Ralph Gilles, CEO of the SRT brand, taking a seat behind the rear-wheel drive coupe.
We’ll remind you the that new, lighter and more powerful 2013 Viper has a starting price of $99,390 (about €77,000 at today’s exchange rates), which includes a destination and handling fee.
