The second generation of the Auris will make its first public appearance on Thursday at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, but Toyota has already announced pricing and trim specifications for the UK market model.
The British-built five-door hatchback will launch in Britain this December in a four-grade line-up with on-the-road prices ranging from £14,495 for the base petrol model to £21,745 for the Hybrid.
Toyota will offer four powertrain variants from the start of sales, including the 98bhp 1.33-liter and 130bhp 1.6-liter petrols, an 88bhp 1.4-liter D-4D diesel and the 134bhp 1.8-liter petrol-electric hybrid. Not included in the list is the 122bhp 2.0-liter D-4D diesel.
The petrol and diesel models are all equipped with a standard six-speed manual transmission, with Toyota’s Multidrive S CVT offered as an option on the 1.6-liter petrol, and the Auris Hybrid offered exclusively with an E-CVT automatic.
The four trim levels are named Active, Icon, Sport and Excel. All models are equipped as standard with seven airbags, a new follow-me-home lighting system, Hill-start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control and LED daytime running lights.
The Active grade includes automatic air conditioning, an audio system with USB and Aux connection and MP3 file player, electric front windows and electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors.
Moving up to the Icon adds 16-inch alloy wheels (15″ for the Hybrid), six-speaker audio system with DAB tuner, Toyota Touch multimedia control screen with Bluetooth, a rear view camera, rear electric windows, leather steering wheel and gear lever, front fog lamps and a push–button start for the Hybrid.
When choosing the Sport grade, buyers get 17-inch wheels (16″ for the 1.4 D-4D), sport front seats and grille, rear diffuser and exhaust trim, and a rear privacy glass.
Finally, on top of the Active grade, the Excel trim level offers 17-inch wheels (16″ for the 1.4 D-4D), different upholstery, dual-zone climate control, Smart Entry and Start, cruise control (sans the 1.4 D-4D), park assist, rain and light sensors, electric folding mirrors, heated front seats and driver’s seat lumbar support.
Available options include Toyota Touch & Go with satellite navigation, a Skyview panoramic roof that measures 2,340 by 1,280mm and a Comfort package.
