There are replicas and there are replicas, with some builders going to extremes to reproduce the look and feel of a high-end model on a budget donor car, and others, well, let’s just say that they get a ‘C’ for effort.
This second generation Toyota MR2 coupe we found listed for sale on eBay UK is supposed to duplicate the looks of a 1990s Ferrari F355, which in its original form, replaced the 348 in 1994 and remained in production until 1999 when it gave its place to the 360.
The only parts of the car we found to resemble the F355 are the wheels and with a little bit of imagination or after a few drinks, the front bumper assembly with the Ferrari-like grille and badge.
There’s no description of the car in the ad with the seller only stating that it’s a 1992 model with 106,343 miles (171,000 km) on the odo.
The auction price of the…glorified MR2 starts at £2,000 (about US$3,200 or €2,500).
