VŪHL is a newly found company which says it’s into making high-tech lightweight supercars. The name stands for “Vehicles of Ultra-Lightweight and High-Performance”, and that’s exactly what they plan to do.
Still shrouded in secrecy, they have announced that they will debut their first ever car, the VŪHL 05, at the 2013 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which is set to take place between July 11 and 14. The car is the brainchild of two brothers, Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, who own a Mexican-American design agency called Etxe.
The company has some tradition and racing heritage in its past, as the two brothers’ father, also called Guillermo, built GT and formula racing cars over a period of 30 years.
Since we don’t really know anything about the company, we thought a statement by Iker, one of the founding brothers, would perhaps shed some light on what they want (to achieve).
He said: “We intend VŪHL products to be renowned for their effective simplicity and aesthetics guided by a purity of function. The 05 and its successors will also be notable for uncompromising build quality, rigorous attention to detail and a driving experience par excellence.”
We hope that the finished product will be just as impressive as the company’s admirable philosophy. We will get a glimpse of the car at Goodwood, but will probably have to wait a bit longer for an actual review of the “05”.
