This year, Aston Martin is celebrating a century since the company was founded, so it is only natural that the automaker has something special in store for us. It might as well be this “very special concept” that the company mentions in a short video on its official YouTube account.
Called “Aston Martin – Past, Present, Future – 19th May 2013”, the 26-second video debuts with some pictures of the legendary Aston Martin DBR1, the car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959.
The video then continues with a person drawing sketches of a sports car and ends with two silhouettes of roadsters on a black background. The one on the right looks very similar to the DBR1, while the one on the left seems to be a modern interpretation of the famous racecar.
The video description says the car is an “Aston Martin which celebrates our centenary year, encompassing the past, present and future in one exceptional design.” It will be revealed on May 19 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where several Aston Martins, including the factory-backed Rapide S that runs both on hydrogen and gasoline, will compete in the 24-hour race.
