Porsche uses every opportunity it has to promote its upcoming hypercar, the 918 Spyder, which is set to debut at the Frankfurt auto show this September. The German sports car manufacturer has released a video showing the 918 undergoing hot weather testing in Nevada, USA.

Five months before the start of production, Porsche continues to trial the 918 Spyder and will soon approach 1 million (1.61 million km) miles of testing. The video, which was shot in the Valley of Fire outside of Las Vegas, shows a white and grey 918 Spyder sporting a Martini livery.

I’ll say it again that I’m a big fan of the 918 Spyder’s looks, and this video is the perfect excuse to envy Porsche’s test drivers. Getting to drive an 887-hp car for a living is never bad, even when you’re exposed to a tempatures of 35 degrees Celsius (96 degrees Fahrenheit).

Scroll down to watch the video and hear the intoxicating sound of the racing car-derived 4.6-liter V8 engine.
