There’s no need to wait for Friday and the opening day of the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed to catch a glimpse of the production version of Peugeot’s most powerful road-going model ever, the all-new RCZ R sports coupe, as official images of the car just surfaced online.
Aesthetically, the changes over last year’s Paris Motor Show RCZ R Concept have to do with the choice of colors (we could see Peugeot offering the study’s matte black and bronze color scheme as an option), the addition of an “R” badge on the front grille and boot lid, plus a black surround for the tail lamp clusters and a third brake light under the rear spoiler.
These pictures also afford us our first view of the sported up interior that gains sculptured bucket seats trimmed in black leather and Alcantara with red accent stitching, which also appears on the leather-clad doors, steering wheel, and dashboard. Other cues we noticed are the piano black trim on the center console, the shiny manual gear shifter knob and “R” badges on the front seats and lower center console.
While we don’t have a detailed press release in our hands yet, Peugeot recently confirmed that the production car will keep the concept’s 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 260hp paired to a six-speed manual and a Torsen limited slip differential to keep those horses in check. A bespoke suspension set-up and beefier brakes will also contribute to the car’s sportier handling.
More information is expected on or before this Friday.
