You may remember the Water Car Panther, the Jeep-esque amphibious vehicle which was not built by a large company capable of developing its own motor. Their solution? They used a Honda V6 engine, normally used as the basis for an outboard motor, because the Japanese manufacturer has been making those for long and has had hardly any complaints from what we know.
FYI, Honda also makes bipedal walking robots, small passenger jet planes, all sorts of (one-) two- or four-wheeled vehicles and the cars that we are so familiar with, to name but a few.
If the problem of each automaker’s contribution to pushing the car forward is brought up, then Honda has definitely done so, especially in more recent times, with their advancements in the realm of green tech, making rev-happy yet reliable naturally-aspirated petrol engines, as well as the fine art of creating very solid dashboards of average perceived quality.
If you want to see a broader selection of vehicles and other products offered by Honda, then do scroll down and watch this clever little ad they made, featuring a pair of what appear to be magic hands. It’s as if you’re watching a POV act by Honda-themed illusionist, which also happens to be very good.
