Mercedes-Benz will introduce the man-made “Iron Mountain” to the UK this summer at the Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey. The event will take place from July 29 to August 8, with visitors having the chance to take a climb up the “Iron Mountain”, tackle a mid-air see-saw and experience a 45 degree descent back down to earth in the G-Class Vertical Experience.
The immense man-made iron structure was built to replicate a mountain near the Graz plant in Austria where the G-Class is tested all year round and Mercedes says it provides one of the most extreme tests possible.
Visitors will be able to experience the extreme test for themselves and discover what it’s like to drive a 4×4 vehicle 10 meters up into the air. Passenger rides cost £10 (€11.6) per person.
Besides the G-Class Vertical Experience, visitors can also see the Stars and their Cars new celebrity exhibition, watch the Silver Arrows Display Team’s performance driving and experience their skills for real with a Silver Arrows Hot Lap.
There will be a few attractions for the youngsters as well, with drives in a miniature Mercedes-Benz at the indoor Little Learners area being the most interesting. For parents, AMG or 4×4 off-road Driving Experiences are also available.
