The VW Group’s Seat brand is promoting the more practical and bigger member of its Leon family of compact models, the Leon ST, in a new spot that hit the airwaves this week.
Seat’s proposal in the relatively popular (in Europe) compact station wagon category builds on all the qualities of the latest three- and five-door Leon hatchbacks adding a longer roofline and a 270mm extended rear overhang to boost luggage capacity to 587 liters with the rear seats up, and 1,470 liters when they are folded down.
Whereas the VW Golf Variant, with which the Leon ST shares its underpinnings and engine lineup, gives emphasis on increasing boost space as much as possible, Seat’s angle was to give the car a little bit more style at some expense of substance, hence the smaller capacity (VW: 605/1620 liters respectively).
