Cars that once belonged to former Formula 1 world champions don’t surface that often on the internet, so when one does it’s always something special. One could say it’s even magical, like this 1992 Honda NSX that was allegedly driven by none other than Formula One legend Ayrton Senna when he stayed in Portugal.
At least that’s what the current owner claims in the description of the sale on eBay. According to the seller, Senna had 2 Honda NSX at his disposal when he stayed in Portugal: a red one from Honda which he used at his villa in Quinta do Lago, and a black one kept at a palace in Sintra near the Estoril track. The latter is the one that’s now up for sale. He also had a black NSX in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Honda NSX on eBay has chassis no.000999 and was given to Senna by his mentor and sponsor Antonio de Almeida Braga. The current owner says he has had the car for 17 years and has hardly used it, as its odometer reads 31,000 miles (49,890 km). Although he doesn’t mention anything about papers, the seller states the car is completely original and even has the same “carpets used by Senna, the last time he drove it, inclusive of his foot print.”
If you’re interested in putting your foot down where Senna once put his (provided that the story is true), the current bid is £51,100 (€59,370 / US$79,200) and there are eight days left to place your own.
