Cadillac has given us some very nice-looking concepts in the last few years – the Ciel drop-top instantly comes to mind, the car which also previewed the twin-turbo V6 engine now powering the CTS Vsport that just lapped the Nürburgring pretty darn quick for a barge its size.
The lastest Cadillac concept, the Elmiraj looks to be a natural progression of the Ciel’s design philosophy, but in a more production-ready interpretation of the idea; plus it’s a coupe, not a convertible, so this has different aesthetic implications too.
Shown in the video we posted below, Jay Leno really seems to love it and frankly we do too. He has GM’s VP of Global Design, Ed Welburn run him through the many design features of the Elmiraj, explaining what he thinks it promises for future Cadillacs, and other GM products, as well.
There is really nobody better to enlighten us on what a stylish car’s design is all about than the person who was most instrumental in its creation, so we’ll let him do that. Scroll down, and click play.
