GM’s test fleet can count one less 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for the road, but one more for evaluation purposes, for engineers to see how the brand-new sports car stands up in a real-life crash, after a Cyber Gray example was involved in an accident on Madison Heights, Michigan, today.
The first picture of the accident between the Corvette Stingray and what looks like an older generation Lincoln Town Car appeared on the Corvetteforums while the second image shot from behind, on Autoweek that asked if this is the first recorded Stingray crash, which it isn’t, as a blue example hit a rock wall back in February.
The publication mentions that the car had manufacturer license plate, which makes sense as first deliveries to customers are just about to begin, while the road in which the accident took place is very close to the GM Technical Center in Warren.
If you have any more information, pictures or better yet, a video (we wish…) of the Lincoln Town Car t-boning the ‘Vette, send it over to us and we’ll update this post.
