You buy an old E30 3-Series BMW as a project car (a good start, may I add), for which you order a lot of cool custom and rare parts, some of which you get to fit, while others you keep in boxes which sit alongside it, in a storage unit you had to rent because you were moving out and couldn’t accommodate it any closer.

So far, so good, but for r3vlimited forum member Van Westervelt from Milwaukie, Oregon, the guy whose car’s story was briefly summed up above, it all went south from there, because his prized project E30 was stolen out of said storage unit.

He made a detailed forum post about it yesterday, explaining that the locks were cut on the night of July 30, and then the car was wheeled out, filled with the parts that had yet to be installed, and taken away on a trailer towed behind a white Chevy 3500 pickup in the direction of the town of Troutdale.

If you see the car, or any of the custom parts said to have been stolen along with it (listed below) do contact Van Westervelt and let him know what you’ve discovered.
