Mopar, Chrysler’s service, parts and customer-care brand, has launched a wide range of aftermarket accessories for Fiat’s latest model in the U.S., the 500L minivan. More than 100 items are on offer, ranging from practical accessories to design upgrades.
Exterior design accessories include body-side graphics made of 3M material and available in various different designs, fender badges representing Mopar, Canada, Italy, Mexico or the United States and a chrome hood spear, an element that harks back to the classic Cinquecento. Mopar also offers four aluminum wheel options, all 17-inch: a standard model, Black Diamond Cut, Ecoreflex and White Diamond Cut.
Practical accessories include a removable roof rack kit with brushed aluminum bars, a waterproof roof top cargo carrier that is easy to mount and remove, and a receiver-mount bike carrier. The latter comes in a two-bike style that folds down to allow the vehicle’s tailgate to open without having to remove bikes. For lovers of water sports, Mopar offers a roof-mounted canoe carrier with latching nylon straps that can hold one canoe.
Accessories for the interior include a headrest coat hanger, key covers with the Fiat 500 logo and 12 design and color options to choose from, plus the Mopar Web system which turns the Fiat 500L into a wireless hot spot. The system includes a router that receives broadband Internet and allow passengers to connect via any WiFi-enabled device. The service is available with a subscription that is sold separately.
A safety accessory offered by Mopar is the Electronic Vehicle Tracking System (EVTS), a GPS-enabled real-time tracking system that works 24/7 with nationwide coverage and includes a $1,000 (€750) Theft Protection Warranty.
