For many, a sported up version of the new Opel Adam with the OPC (VXR for Vauxhall and the British market) badge would make a lot of sense, especially if you take into consideration it’s near-premium positioning in the market.

Officially, Opel says that it’s still debating whether to expand the range of the Adam, but these fresh spy shots from Germany suggest that the automaker may be doing much more than that.

The Adam prototype with the patches of camouflage on the front and rear corners is wearing large OPC-style alloy wheels with a five-bolt connection (the regular Adams come with four bolts), while other special features include the additional intakes behind the license plate number under the grille, the fitment of big front brake discs with OPC-style blue calipers and a lowered suspension.

If this is indeed a tester for the OPC and not an intermediate sport variant, then it will likely feature a turbocharged gasoline unit with at least 150-horsepower.
