Some six months after the 2014 Regal facelift’s world premiere at the New York Auto Show, Buick has released pricing for the cosmetically and mechanically updated sedan model before it goes on sale in the States later this year.
The entry version to the series is the upgraded Regal Turbo that now shares a more powerful 259hp and 295 lb-ft (400Nm) 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with the GS, and which starts at $30,615, including a $925 destination charge.
This unit delivers 18 percent more power over the 220hp 2013MY Regal Turbo, yet mated to a six-speed automatic, it returns a 17 percent improvement in city fuel economy at 21mpg, and 30mpg on the highway, according to GM.
Also new for 2014 is an AWD version of the Regal Turbo that incorporates electronic limited-slip differential and is priced at $32,790.
Those looking for better fuel economy can go with the 36 mpg highway 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with eAssist that starts at $32,485 in 2014MY form.
At the top of the range is the 2014 Regal GS, which in terms of engine output, sees its 2.0-liter turbocharged four lowered from 270hp to 259hp, while retaining the same peak torque figure of 295 lb-ft (400Nm). Buick says with a six-speed automatic transmission, the fresh GS earns an EPA rating of 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, an 11 percent improvement over the 2013 Regal GS on the highway. There’s also a no-cost six-speed manual gearbox, as well as an all-wheel drive version that starts at $40,195.
