Following the preview offered last month, Lamborghini has now revealed more details and photos of what is likely to be the final version of the current Gallardo – the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse.
Set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on Tuesday, the Squadra Corse is the most extreme model in the Gallardo lineup. Based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo racecar, the limited production model uses the same V10 engine, rear wing and removable engine hood equipped with a quick-release system. Both the rear wing and the hood are made from carbon fiber composite material.
At 1,340kg (2,954lbs), the Squadra Corse is 70kg (154lbs) lighter than the Gallardo LP 560-4, boasting a power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kilograms per hp.
This allows it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and to reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 10.4 seconds. Maximum speed is 320 km/h, while stopping power is provided by the production-standard carbon-ceramic brakes.
The V10 engine develops 562hp (570PS) at 8,000 rpm and features the unique firing order of the racing engine. Just like the racing car, the all-wheel-drive Squadra Corse features a robotized e-gear six-speed transmission operated by steering wheel paddles.
On the outside, the limited edition Lamborghini comes with a decal strip displaying Italy’s flag colors, a matte black finish on the large rear wing, while the hood, front air intakes, rear diffuser and 19-inch forged wheels are painted in high-gloss black.
The brake calipers are available in red, black or yellow, while the bodywork can be painted Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and Rosso Mars (red).
Carbon fiber and Alcantara dominate the minimalist cabin, with Lamborghini offering racing bucket seats as standard (comfort seats are optional).
Lamborghini didn’t say how many Squadra Corse units will be made, but revealed prices will start from €191,100 ($253,380) in Italy, excluding taxes.
