As the title of this piece eloquently states, today was a very hectic day in the UK county of Kent, where some 100 vehicles collided with each other due to heavy fog impairing visibility on a motorway bridge.

Witnesses reported that it went on for around 10 minutes, when one could hear “crash after crash after crash.” The immediate aftermath, which was obviously captured on dozens of smartphones, revealed the crumpled vehicles and their drivers/passengers with varying degrees of injury sitting down on the side of the road, awaiting the emergency services.

Thankfully, nobody was killed in the chaos, but thirty people were taken to hospital, six of whom were apparently in more serious life-threatening condition.

The exact location of the pileup was the Sheeppey Crossing, on the A249 road – it was closed off in both directions, and as some of the videos we posted below show, cars were forced to go around the wreckage that blocked the road.

Check out the full selection of videos below. The final one just shows a safe, uneventful passing of the bridge, just to give you a better idea of where this all took place and why it’s such a relief that no cars were tipped over the edge.
