We know what your first question will be about this report: are these illustrations of the new 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe from Autobild magazine the rear deal or the creative work of an artist from the German publication?
They don’t exactly look like the work of an independent designer, but then again, you can never be sure these days, plus they’re not all the same – you can see differences in the design details and even the shape of the rear-end among them. Since the magazine doesn’t clarify, we’ll drop some heavy grains of salt around the renderings until we get a definitive answer.
As for the report, it states that Mercedes-Benz will present the successor to the CL-Class Coupe at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week under the name the S-Class Coupe.
Merc’s new personal luxury coupe will share most of its underpinnings, engine range and technology with the S-Class sedan, but it will sport a completely different body with sleeker and more aggressive lines along with a rakish roofline. Engine options are likely to include turbocharged V8 and V12 units in both regular and pumped-up AMG trims.
Naturally, we’ll keep an eye open for any official announcements and pass them on to you ASAP.
