After we caught a sketchy look at the new and promising Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept that will lead to a production version next year through a batch of official drawings, the Germans today published a video teaser of the actual study.
As is usually the case with these promotional trailers, we only get to see parts of the car but not the entire picture. Nevertheless, these stills together with the drawings paint an elegant yet dynamic and sporty look for Merc’s CL-Class successor that will challenge the likes of the Bentley Continental GT coupe and even the Rolls-Royce Wraith.
Riding on a modified version of the new S-Class sedan’s platform architecture and benefitting from the same technology, comfort and safety features and novelties, motivation for the four-seater S-Class Coupe is expected to come from twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder and V12 engines, including the higher-powered S63 and S65 AMG variants.
Until Mercedes releases more on the Frankfurt Motor Show-bound study, hop over jump to take a first look at the real life concept in the video that follows.
