If we needed any more proof that men and women consistently act differently when faced with similar recurring situations, we now have it in the form of a survey put together by Insurance, and reported by Forbes. It revealed that the reactions drivers had behind the wheel were intrinsically linked to their gender, or at least that was the case in the US, or/and with the 1,000 people that took part in it.
The conclusions were that women preferred to curse at other road users who they felt wronged by, and also give them the middle finger, while men more frequently used the horn, and were more slightly more prone to keying someone’s car […].
Strangely, it was women that were discovered to be more likely tailgaters, which to me sounds a tad unbelievable, though the fine art of speeding up significantly to prevent someone from passing you was found to be a mostly male tendency – as was to be expected…
Still, not all drivers are naughty in traffic, or at least they don’t admit to it, and only around 41 percent of those surveyed said ‘yes’ to having honked at somebody for driving too slowly, while even fewer, 37 percent come clean about swearing in front of their kids – flipping somebody off was fairly common too, and came third, with 29 percent frequency.
It would have been noteworthy if they also asked how many of these light confrontations, let’s call them, turned into fully-fledged road rage incidents, because there seem to be quite a few of those taking place, and the ones coming out of the US can sometimes be just as odd as most of the stuff coming out of Russia, like very violent video posted below shows.
