VW’s commercial vehicles division will showcase a special edition of the Amarok pickup at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Called the Amarok Dark Label, the model is based on the “Trendline” equipment level and features dark add-on parts.
Unique visual accents include the 18-inch “Durban” alloy wheels, dark rear side windows and rear windscreen, B-pillars covered with a black trim layer, design stripes, smoked rear lights and LED-illumination for the license plate.
The door handles, exterior mirrors, rear bumper and styling bar as well as the lateral sill tubes with entry step surfaces are also designed in black, while the styled underbody guard at the front in offset in silver.
On the inside, the Amarok Dark Label brings Alcantara seat covers, velour floor mats with signatures, an RCD 310 radio with multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats and heated windscreen washer nozzles. VW also throws in a Durabed liner coating for the cargo bed.
The special edition Amarok pickup can be ordered in any of the paints available for the Amarok Trendline, along with the Starlight Blue color. The Amarok Dark Label is only available as a DoubleCab and can be combined with any of the engine and drivetrain versions – rear-wheel drive, permanent four-wheel drive of switchable four-wheel drive. Available engines are two 2.0-liter diesel units with 140PS (138hp) and 180PS (177hp) respectively.
Prices start from €36,271 ($47,800) in Germany for the base engine with rear-wheel drive. Orders start at the beginning of November, with first deliveries planned for early 2014.
