The game Watchdogs promises to immerse the player in a vast slightly dark and frankly depressing interpretation of Chicago, which runs according to a single centralized operating system. Each citizen is tracked, and if connected to the system can be hacked with ease.

This is where the main character of the game comes in. He’s a kind of hacker-vigilante with extensive knowledge of how to tap into the power provided by the city’s software, which pretty much allows him to do virtually anything he chooses, like move around buildings and blocked off areas, using cameras. Still, there’s also the good old fashioned way of getting around – by car, and the latest video uploaded by publisher Ubisoft shows two car chases for your entertainment.

These don’t promise to be overly-exciting, but since the hacking abilities can be used on the move, new possibilities of ending pursuits or escaping tailing enemies become apparent. Driving is not really the main theme of the game, but specifically because of this, there is a chance of the mechanics being half-assed – the downfall of many games of the sort that couldn’t back up the action bits with proper adrenaline-pumping car chases.

Check out the video below – you’ll have 14 minutes at your disposal to decide whether this game is really worth the wait, or not. It’s set to reach shelves on November 19, so it’ll be just in time for Christmas.
