The term super-saloon is not new, and has been used to describe very fast (usually German) sedans ever since they began getting quicker, and more driver oriented. However, most, even the newer ones, pale in comparison when placed alongside the TMG TS-650, a car originally based on the latest version of the Lexus LS – this would do wonders for Toyota’s sporty image too…

TMG, the Japanese automaker’s Germany-based motorsport arm, has managed to create something extreme, using the big luxury car as a base, which they have turned into a track-ready weapon, and have compensated for its significant heft with a five-liter V8 engine producing 641 hp and 765 Nm. Now, XCAR has managed to get the highly-modified Lexus for a test drive, which they conducted exclusively on track.

After seeing the video, which is posted below, there’s really no doubt in my mind that this car could have a market in the real world. It’s a different proposition to a Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG, as it’s more focused on the driving fast bit, and with its visible body kit and bolt-on bits, it will get noticed much more when driving on the street – this will appeal to some, and repulse others, but it’s a matter of personal preference.
