The E39 M5 was BMW’s first attempt at putting a high-revving V8 in one of its medium-sized executive cars. Making 400 hp, at the time of its launch, in and around the year 1999, it was the quickest thing in its class, and only had a serious contender when Jaguar upped the power of the S-Type R to match it.
However, while it’s a good car as it is, Dinan is known for making BMWs just that little bit better, and that’s exactly what was done here. The M5 is one of only 10 that ever reached this state of tune, and it reportedly pushes out in excess of 620 hp which is generated through fitting it with a supercharger.
There are also brake and suspension mods too, along with various components that have been swapped out for heavy-duty ones – the clutch is one example here.
It’s also a really nice car to drive, according to its owner, who says it can easily do the relaxed cruiser role too, but light the rear tires up at a moment’s notice when the situation calls for it. Check it out in the video posted below.
