The aura surrounding Porsche and their famed 911 has changed over the years, from an early reputation as a twitchy but solidly-built sports car to what we have today, which is probably the greatest force to be reckoned with in its respective class in the industry.
However, in the face of all the new rivals that have shown up recently, is it still a worthy choice, given its higher than average price and the very good models available lower down in the Porsche range for a lot less cash?
Well, Matt Farah’s Drive review of a 911 Carrera S with 400 hp says it is. He had the opportunity to ride the very yellow car around Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, in California, and came out from the experience very impressed.
