The Qashqai has been somewhat of a phenomenon for Nissan, having sold very well since it was introduced in 2007 and up until it was replaced by an all-new model. That car has not been on the market for long, but it’s already been reviewed by WhatCar, and the conclusion is that it’s still a strong contender for the class laurels.
It’s strong points are the efficient and punchy Renault-sourced diesel engines, the revised interior which looks (and apparently feels) much better than before and is also above average when it comes to shutting out wind and road noise too.
However, while all well and good, the review, which is posted below in video form, recommends that prospective buyers stay away from the dim-witted continuously variable gearbox which “sometimes feels out of sync with the engine.”
