Six weeks: that is how long we have before Audi pulls off the proverbial wraps from the third iteration of the TT at the Geneva motor show in the first week of March.
While the auxiliary lights on the front of this prototype may bring back happier memories from World Rally Championship-times, the production car will have a clean look, as previewed by the Allroad Shooting Brake Concept from the 2014 Detroit auto show.
Talking about first looks, Audi also displayed the production TT’s dashboard at the CES show in Las Vegas earlier this month. What captured everyone’s attention was the all-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster incorporating the infotainment screen.
The new 2015 TT’s evolutionary exterior and more minimalistic interior will cover up an altered version of Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, with power to come from the MQB family of gasoline, and for some regions, including Europe, diesel engines as well. Compared to the current model, the new TT should weigh in at least 50kg (+110 pounds) less, offering better performance, fuel economy and handling.
