Along with the new model year Continental, another significant change in Bentley’s 2014 lineup is the addition of the Flying Spur V8, which complements the Flying Spur flagship W12 model.

The sedan gets the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine from the Continental V8 coupe producing 507PS (500hp) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque. The Flying Spur V8 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h).

Driving range is 520 miles (840 km), thanks to features like cylinder deactivation, intelligent thermal management and electrical recuperation.

As in the W12 model, the V8 unit sends power through a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. The Flying Spur V8 is differentiated by the flagship model by figure of eight chromed exhaust finishers, a red center to the Bentley winged badge and black front bumper grilles with a black “wing” insert.

Deliveries of the new Flying Spur V8 begin in the spring.
