The Land Rover Defender is a vehicle that after almost half a century of service, is finally being dragged towards retirement. However, even after it will be put out of production, there will still be plenty around to break up for parts or salvage, refurbish and even modernize as extensively as you wish, kind of like what Kahn Design has done with the diesel one shown here or the more extreme (and much faster one) with the elongated front section.
What we’re showing here, though, is the Kahn Land Rover Defender 2.4 TDCI 90 Hard Top – Chelsea Wide Track. Its name immediately has you looking at its “Mondial” wheels, which measure 20 inches in diameter and come partly finished in glossy piano black.
Another point that draws the eye is the completely new custom “X-Lander” grille.
Inside, the usual luxurious Kahn treatment is applied, but all the functionality is retained. The standard seats are swapped out for much sportier ones that also come trimmed in “soft, quilted, perforated leather” that goes to complete the interior ambiance that’s also positively affected by the refaced instrument dials.
