Project Cars is one of the many professionally developed racing/driving simulations currently being worked on. It’s a direct competitor for Assetto Corsa, which we previewed a few weeks back.
The game is the work of Slightly Mad Studios, known for their collaboration with publisher Electronic Arts for the creation of the Need for Speed: Shift games.
However, project cars is quite a different kind of game and big departure from what they’ve previously worked on.
Still far from being completed, the game is still receiving cars and tracks to add to its roster, and the latest to be introduced and updated is a stretch of twisty mountain road called “California Highway.”
As you will undoubtedly see once you’ve scrolled to the video below, it is especially pleasant to look at when the time of day is set to dusk and all gets bathed in orange… The car chosen to tackle the road is a Mitsubishi Evo X and as the name of the video suggests, it’s really becoming harder and harder to spot the difference between virtual and real.
