In the following years, Skoda wants to lift annual sales to an impressive 1.5+ million units, up from 920,800 in 2013, and to do so, it plans to launch on average, one new or facelifted model every six months. For the time being, however, the Czechs are placing their efforts on enhancing the current range with new editions like the Monte Carlo spec cars.

At the Geneva Motor Show, Skoda will add three more Monte Carlo editions based on the Yeti crossover, Rapid Spaceback hatch and the Citigo mini, bringing the tally to five, as it already offers the specification on the Fabia hatchback and estate.

Even though the Monte Carlo special editions are made to celebrate the brand’s achievements in motorsports, they don’t bring any performance enhancements whatsoever.

Instead, they rely on purely cosmetic touches, such as the black aluminum wheels in sizes 15 to 17 inches, dark-tinted rear and back side windows, a black roof for the Yeti and Rapid Spaceback, red-stitched steering wheel, black interior and sports seats with a unique fabric design.

In Geneva, the Monte Carlo editions will join the new Octavia L&K, Octavia Scout, Octavia G-TEC and the VisionC sports saloon study.
