As if to completely confirm the impression left by the Buick Enclave when it was tested by CNET a while back, now, the Consumer Reports review strays very little from the same points being made. It’s clear that the Enclave, while freshly redesigned, is still an old car underneath, but one that can ferry seven people around with relative competence.

However, its 288 hp 3.6-liter V6 engine is as thirsty as some body-on-frame SUVs, and is easily trumped by its more modern rivals – if you’re searching for efficiency, you’d better look elsewhere.

For instance, why not pay less for the same basic car, albeit with non-premium badge: it’s the same basic vehicle underneath as the cheaper Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia.

If you want my two cents, if you are looking at this kind of car, then you’re probably a family person who needs the space and seating arrangement, so do shop around for something else first, like an actual minivan to enjoy the full practical benefits offered by these vehicles.
