Many of you have been asking for super-fast estate models, and here’s one that surely fits the bill; the new Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake that was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show.

This is the kind of car that has the potential to make people change their minds on station-wagon models.

With its beefed up body and 20-inch wheels, it looks even better than the regular XF Sportbrake, but the real reason why you’ll actually want to jump behind the wheel is the 5.0-liter supercharged V8, borrowed directly from the XFR-S sedan.

Connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission turning the rear wheels, the 550PS (542hp) and 680Nm-strong V8 will push the car to 60mph in 4.6 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

Did we mention that the XFR-S Sportbrake also comes with the added wife/family-convincing benefit of 1,675 liters of rear load space with the rear seats folded down?

“Combining real-world versatility with electrifying performance, the XFR-S Sportbrake brings Jaguar’s sporting character to life in a truly engaging car that will satisfy the most demanding of drivers while fitting into the most active of lifestyles,” says Dean Murden, Vehicle Programme Director at Jaguar.
