The scent of spring has brought about a new dressing for Land Rover’s upcoming sportier Range Rover Sport that was sighted wearing a refreshingly different camouflage wrap displaying the brand’s models.

This new edition, which may or may not wear the RS designation, will be the performance version of the Range Rover Sport series, reportedly fitted with the Jaguar-Land Rover group’s 542hp (550PS) and 502 lb-ft (680Nm) 5.0-liter supercharged V8 used on the XFR-S sedan and XKR-S coupe.

If the output numbers remain, then the top Range Rover Sport will have 40hp and 41 lb-ft more torque that the Supercharged and Autobiography editions of the series that complete the  0-60mph (96km/h) in 5.0 seconds.

On the outside, the RS will have a new body kit with wheel arch extensions housing bigger alloys with wider rubber, a reworked front bumper with larger air inlets, and a diffuser-equipped rear bumper sporting two sets of twin pipes.

Upgrades will also be made to the chassis and specifically, the suspension and possibly the brake system as well.

We should see the finished production within the next year.
