We knew for a while that Audi was going to present the new S1 in Geneva and while we assumed that it would also debut the updated A1, the Germans only proceeded with the hot hatch reveal leaving the standard editions of the series for later.
This week, our man with the long lens flashed his camera on a camouflaged tester of the 2015MY Audi A1, and unsurprisingly, the three-door hatch sports the same fresh visual cues seen on the S1, including the re-shaped headlamps and more modern tail light graphics.
In regular trim, the A1 also gains restyled bumpers on both ends of the car along with a subtly tweaked front grille. What you see here will be applied to the five-door Sportback model as well.
Audi should also fine-tune the standard A1’s powertrains in a similar way that VW updated the Polo.
