With winter slowly moving away from the Northern hemisphere, now would be a good time for BMW to shed the remaining bits of camouflage on the M4 Convertible and release it to the public, but as these pics prove, the firm’s engineers aren’t done just yet.
The high-performance, four-seater convertible shares its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, producing 425hp (431PS) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, with the M4 Coupe. It will be a tad slower, though, due to the added weight (+200kg or +440lbs) of the retractable metal roof.
Other than that and the reduced rear passenger and luggage space, the two M4s are the same, featuring a wider body with a distinct aero package, the option of a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the rear wheels, together with a series of chassis upgrades.
A premium over the M4 Coupe’s U.S. starting price of $64,200 is to be expected.
