Another day of April foolery is sluggishly coming to an end, although, depending on your time zone, you may have a few more hours left to scare the crap out of, or if you’re a gentle soul, simply hoax someone – that is, unless you agree with Mr. I don’t like April 1st.

Over the past 24h, we shared a number of automotive stories ranging from lame to tongue-and-cheek, including Peugeot’s personalized car horn option, the tea-leaf-powered Mini, Honda’s DIY Fit kit, Skoda’s furry Yeti, and the (lame alert) football-inspired Opel, Mini and Citroen models.

A few more spoofing attempts we saw online, without posting about, were Mercedes-Benz Japan’s SPACE CLA, Mazda’s new 4-seater MX-5, Prior Design’s BMW 6-Series pickup truck, Audi Japan’s Sushi Quattro sticks, Nissan’s 370 Limo-Z, and Mitsubishi UK’s ASX (Outlander Sport) Convertible.

We’ll also add VW Commercial Vehicle’s partnership with RSPCA “to teach rescue dogs to drive”, BMW’s new Force Injection Booster that “simulates the effects of spirited driving, even when commuting at slower speeds, to create a thrilling ride,” and BMW New Zealand’s New ZZZ video.

A special mention should be made to Acura’s cheeky release in which it celebrated “an important milestone, marking 28 consecutive years as the top luxury automobile brand in America based on alphabetical ranking”:

“At Acura, there are many things we’re proud of, and one of those things is our alphabetic dominance.  I mean, these are the A-B-Cs of marketing, and no one does it better than Acura,” said Mike Accavitti, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Acura.  “Audi has been nipping at our heels since the beginning, and then there was that deal with Amati, which never really had a shot.  We even toyed with adding another A on the front of the name, but we’re confident that we can maintain our leadership, assuming no one comes along with Abalone or Aardvark or something like that.”

As for us, well, with the help of our artist Josh Byrnes, we mocked up a story on the next generation Mazda MX-5 set for a NY Show world premiere with a leaked official sketch.
