One of Richard Hammond’s first jobs in the world of motoring journalism was that of car reviewer for the UK-based men’s lifestyle TV channel Men&Motors, where he worked until making the step into the big time, by starting to co-host Top Gear.

Knowledgeable and with no trouble expressing clear ideas that stick, Hammond’s reviews are thorough and insightful to watch, and we do see why he was chosen by the BBC, even back then.

However, while the TV channel went bust in 2007 and stopped making car shows, they have a YouTube channel that’s fully stocked with what looks like all of their videos, in decent watchable quality.

So, if you’re into knowing more about cars of the very late 1990s and early 2000s, and like the way Richard goes about showcasing each one, then you have a good few hours of watching ahead. Even their videos without him are still worth watching for the information value alone.

What you see linked below are just three random examples, but if you’re into the idea, he reviewed a few bikes too.
